I entered a land sale contract with my ex-girlfriend ...

I entered a land sale contract with my ex-girlfriend on a house that is in very poor condition about 3 years ago. I am the only one that lives at the residence now and I was naive about how much work was needed to fix up the house. Is there any way I can get out of my contract?
