can you tell me the definition of (provided) according to the state statue: distributed?

The way I am thinking it should be is: Johnny was buying an apple for $1.00 but he only had 0.75 cents. There i Provided (GAVE) Johnny a quarter so he could buy the apple. otherwise, I showed Jonny that I had a quarter, he saw that I had the quarter, but I never gave (Provided) it to him.
